There are fears Sydney FC skipper Alex Brosque could miss the rest of the season with a recurrence of his hamstring problems.
“He’s not looking too good,” Sydney FC coach Graham Arnold said of Brosque at Tuesday’s official ACL press conference.
“We’re getting a second opinion on him now.”
The Sydney FC captain, 32, limped off with a hamstring injury during Sydney’s 4-1 win over Central Coast Mariners on Boxing Day.
Brosque returned only weeks ago against Perth Glory.
But after a physically demanding schedule, one that began with the Sydney Derby, then a midweek trip to Tokyo for the ACL, Brosque re-injured his hamstring last Saturday against Melbourne Victory.
“I’d say by the weekend we’ll know how long he’s going to be out for but it’s not looking great,” added Arnold.
“It could possibly [be the rest of the season].”
