Kenny Lowe conceded Perth Glory were simply outclassed by a “bloody good side” in Sydney FC as they suffered a 6-0 drubbing at Allianz Stadium on Saturday night.
The visitors struggled to cope with the champions’ firepower, with five second-half goals contributing to the biggest margin of the season so far.
“Sometimes you just have to take your hat off to an excellent team,” Lowe said of Sydney at his post-match press conference.
“We were compact and solid in the first 20 minutes and controlled the game a little bit to be truthful.
“But if you don’t stay structured and disciplined they’ll pick you off with the quality they’ve got.
“That’s what happened [in the second-half]. We didn’t execute the things that we spoke about.”
With back-to-back home matches to come in the new year, Lowe insists there is a simple route to redemption for sixth-placed Perth.
“Easy. You just go away and work hard,” he said.
“Everyone has their own personal pride and professional pride.
“You just go away and understand we let ourselves down, and we come back and have a result against Adelaide.”
