Western Sydney Wanderers’ loss to Melbourne Victory early in Matchweek 18 has opened the door for Phoenix to close the gap the Finals Series standings against Adelaide United.
Adelaide United travel to Wollongong to meet Wellington unbeaten in ten games, beginning Matchweek 18 in third spot on the A-League table.
Phoenix young gun Ben Waine has scored three goals in as many games to help his side snare seven points from a possible nine, as Wellington backed up wins over Western United and Perth by drawing 1-1 with the Green and Black in the opening game of Matchweek 18.
