The Sydney Derby has ended in a stalemate for the first time after Sydney FC and Western Sydney Wanderers fought out a 0-0 draw at Allianz Stadium on Saturday night.
In front of over 40,000 fans, the crosstown rivals cancelled each other out despite opportunities at either end throughout a hard-fought contest.
Both sides enjoyed their own moments of ascendency but were denied by top-class shot-stopping from their respective goalkeepers.
Under heavy scrutiny from the home fans, Wanderers’ Vedran Janjetovic kept his club’s first clean sheet of the season against the side he departed just last month.
Danny Vukovic was just as influential with his late double save preserving a point for the Sky Blues, who remain unbeaten and move five points clear of Melbourne Victory.
