In a massive blow for the Wanderers, key defender Matt Spiranovic will be out for around 10 weeks due to an ankle injury, meaning the star Socceroo will miss the club’s ACL quarter finals in August.
The Socceroo will have surgery on Monday to fix an ankle complaint, though we understand it’s not a serious injury.
It means the talented central defender will also miss the Foxtel A-League All Stars clash with Juventus on August. A replacement will be announced soon.
The 26-year-old will also miss the Socceroos’ clash with Belgium in early September.
Spiranovic was one of the stars of the Socceroos’ Brazil 2014 campaign and was a key contributor to the Wanderers last season – his first in the Hyundai A-League.
