Sky Blues hunt payback in Canberra on ABC1

Tune in to ABC1 each Sunday at 3pm nationally for LIVE Westfield W-League action, this week featuring Sydney FC visiting Canberra United in a match-up between two of the competition’s long-standing rivals.

For Sydney FC it will be the first chance to claim a dose of revenge after Canberra snatched an unexpected win in the harbour city late last season, and with it the 2014 Westfield W-League premiership.

More importantly, Sydney’s tenuous hold on second spot goes up for grabs, with Canberra just a point shy of the Sky Blues and once again threatening to overhaul them in the home straight.

Sydney FC will again be without several of their young stars on Westfield Young Matildas duty, but there will be no shortage of talent on display at McKellar Park in Belconnen.

Three points is essential for both teams if they are to harbour to hope of overhauling frontrunners Perth Glory meaning a up-tempo and hard-fought contest is assured for nationwide armchair viewers and local fans alike.

This season’s ABC’s Sunday afternoon broadcast games will again be hosted by Stephanie Brantz, with former Westfield Matildas and W-League star Sarah Walsh joining Peter Wilkins in commentary.

Catch all the action Live nationally at 3.00pm Sunday on ABC1, or catch up from Monday on ABC iView with a full replay each Tuesday at 3.30am.
