Sydney FC mastermind Graham Arnold says he’s concentrating solely on Grand Final glory as debate rages around his side’s status as arguably the Hyundai A-League’s greatest ever.
The Sky Blues reached another milestone with their festive final round win over Newcastle Jets on Saturday night, surpassing Brisbane Roar’s record points tally of 2010/11.
“We don’t compare ourselves to Brisbane Roar. They were a fantastic team and Ange [Postecoglou] did a wonderful job,” Arnold told Fox Sports.

“All we’ve tried to do is create history with points and stats.
“We clearly know that’s one trophy. The bigger one is coming and we’ll focus on that.
“At the end of the day it’s a wonderful debate [to have] of who is better.”
Second-half goals from Milos Ninkovic and Alex Brosque ensured Sydney raised the club’s second Premiers Plate on the right note, although a shadow was cast over the 2-0 victory when Ninkovic limped off with around 15 minutes remaining.
Arnold insisted the Serbian star would be fit for their home Semi-Final in two weeks’ time.
“He’ll be fine. [His substitution was] more a precaution,” the Sydney boss said.
“Thankfully we do have the week off and he’ll recover in time.”
