Westfield W-League leaders Melbourne City have added even more firepower to their squad with the addition of American young gun Ally Watt.
Watt, 22, joins the competition leaders on the back of big hype after she was selected by National Women’s Soccer League powerhouse North Carolina Courage with their first pick of the 2020 college draft.
In doing so, the attacker became the highest ever draft pick from her college side Texas A&M.
During her career with the team known as ‘The Aggies’, Watt notched a very impressive 49 goals and 12 assists in 90 appearances. 19 of those 49 goals were match-winners.
“I’m extremely excited to get started at Melbourne City,” she told the club website.

“The team has had a really strong start to the season and I’m looking forward to doing everything I can to play my role and have an influence in the second half of the season.

Watt represented United States at the FIFA U20 World Cup in 2016.
She has commenced training with Rado Vidosic’s squad and is set to make her debut when City face Melbourne Victory on Thursday 13 February.
