Kiwi goalkeeper Oliver Sail has signed a two-year contract extension with Wellington Phoenix.
Sail, 23, joined Wellington’s reserve team back in September 2014 before signing his maiden senior deal in March 2017.
Since then, the Auckland-born gloveman has featured seven times for the New Zealanders.
But he has offered a glimpse of his Hyundai A-League quality this season in breakout performances against Perth Glory, Sydney FC and Newcastle Jets.

“Being a New Zealander, you always want to represent your home club and to be able to do that for a further two-years is really exciting,” Sail told the club’s official website.
“We are building something special at the club and I believe it will continue to improve, so I’m very happy to be a part of it.”
“It’s very rare to have a number two of similar quality to your first choice, so he’s constantly pushing [Filip] Kurto,” said Wellington goalkeeper coach Paul Gothard.
“When Kurto hasn’t been available, we’ve had Oli come in and perform magnificently with his performances this season.
“He is going to be a big part of the team moving forward.”
