Western United FC have received a boost ahead of their return to action with in-form keeper Filip Kurto re-signing with the club.
Kurto has inked a one-year extension with the Hyundai A-League’s newest club, keeping him in Melbourne until the end of the 2020/21 Season.
“I am really happy to be staying at Western United,” Kurto said on the club’s official website.
“I’m excited to have the opportunity to continue this amazing journey that we have only just begun.
“It’s a good club to be part of, I’m very happy.”
Kurto, 29, was named the Hyundai A-League’s Goalkeeper of the Year last season in his maiden campaign Down Under while playing for Wellington Phoenix.

And he has continued his excellent form under Mark Rudan in 2019/20, making 67 saves for the campaign to rank third in the competition.
His re-signing is a huge sign of confidence in the future for United, who have also locked away skipper Alessandro Diamanti, Steven Lustica, Luke Duzel and fellow goalkeeper Ryan Scott.
“It’s great to have Filip re-sign. He has proven to be one of the top goalkeepers in the A-League,” United goalkeeper coach Frank Juric said.
“Filip is a total professional on and off the field and is well respected among his teammates and the coaching staff.”
United return to action on Saturday when they take on Melbourne Victory at Bankwest Stadium, kicking off at 7.35pm AEST.
