Signing news: Foundation youth team midfielder Sullivan returns to Wanderers

He was a member of the club’s foundation youth league squad over six years ago, and on Monday, Nick Sullivan signed a professional contract with Western Sydney Wanderers.

Sullivan, a tough-tackling, physical midfielder, returns to the club after spending time within the youth set up of Belgian heavyweights Club Brugge and Portuguese clubs Vitoria and Cova De Piedade.

The 21-year-old is the sixth off-season arrival for Markus Babbel’s side.

“It means everything to me to play for the Wanderers and to put on the Red & Black strip,” Sullivan told the club website.

“I’ve always wanted to be a professional so when I got the contract I couldn’t wait to sign and all the boys in the team congratulated me.

“All the support staff here are amazing, they all said that they had my back so I’ve been doing all the one-percenters on and off the field to make the most of the environment I’m in now.”

Sullivan will travel to Western Australia tomorrow for Western Sydney’s FFA Cup 2019 Round of 32 clash with Perth Glory.
