Semi Final preview: Sydney FC v Canberra United

Sydney FC are eager to notch a Semi Final win over Canberra United on Monday afternoon, to continue their pursuit of a Premiership/Championship double in the 2020/21 Westfield W-League season.

Sydney clash with Canberra for the third time this season, after a 4-0 Sky Blue win in Round 7 and 0-0 draw in Round 14.

Sydney’s huge Round 7 victory over the Green Machine was the last of six in a row for Ante Juric’s team to start the 2020/21 season. Their form faltered through the second half of the campaign, but the Sky Blues did enough to clinch first place and the Premiers Plate by the season’s end.

Canberra, meanwhile, head into their first Finals Series campaign in four seasons. The return of Michelle Heyman – who scored 10 goals throughout the season – helped lead the revival under head coach Vicki Linton, who takes her team into the Finals Series in her first season in charge.
