The Wellington Phoenix have announced the mutual termination of Jeffery Sarpong’s contract, with the attacker set to return to his homeland.

The 27-year-old struggled to make an impact in the Hhyundai A-League this season, making 13 appearances for the Phoenix without scoring a goal.
Sarpong had previously played over 100 games in the Dutch first division with Ajax and NEC and also spent three years in Spain’s La Liga with Real Sociedad.
