Gold Coast United will be without midfield enforcer Jonas Salley for the game against Adelaide this weekend after he was given a one-match ban by the independent Match Review Panel.
Salley-s 11th-minute challenge of Sydney-s Dimitri Petratos last weekend wasn-t picked up by referee Ben Williams, but after reviewing the incident the MRP decided the tackle constituted serious foul play and was actually a red card offence.
As a result, Salley will miss this Friday-s cellar-dweller battle at Hindmarsh Stadium. The midfielder has also been given a further suspended one-match ban, which takes into account the his previous fair play record, and will only take affect if he-s shown a straight red for the remainder of the 2011/12 Hyundai A-League season.
