Rumour Mill – Milligan to Melbourne, Mile to Mariners

According to reports in the media, Mark Milligan is set to join Melbourne Victory, while Mile Sterjovski will pull on Central Coast’s yellow and blue.

With still more than two months to go until season 2012/13, Hyundai A-league teams are busy sorting out their squads for next season.

First up, Qantas Socceroo Mark Milligan is said to be on the verge of joining Ange Postecoglou-s new look Victory side.

Melbourne-s Herald Sun reports Milligan, who impressed during his 10-game stint with the club last season, will be released from the final year of his contract with Japanese side JEF United, allowing Victory to sign the defender on a free transfer, which would certainly represent good businss for Postecoglou.

Meanwhile, Central Coast Mariners are said to have beaten Sydney FC to the signature of former Socceroo Mile Sterjovski.

The Sydney Morning Herald reports Sterjovski has left Chinese Super League club Dalian Aerbin by mutual consent, and will link up with Graham Arnold on a one-year contract.

Also on the Central Coast, the Mariners are said to have turned down a request to trial highly rated keeper Mat Ryan by English Championship side Burnley.

And there are developing reports on social media that Mariners skipper Alex Wilkinson is set to swap Gosford for Korea…
