Melbourne Victory full-back Storm Roux says Keisuke Honda is proving an inspirational presence for Kevin Muscat’s side.
Roux provided the assist as the Japanese legend notched a goal on his Hyundai A-League debut in Round 1’s 2-1 Melbourne Derby defeat to Melbourne City last Saturday evening.
And although Honda’s maiden Hyundai A-League appearance was sullied by their cross-city rivals, Roux says there is more to come from the star play-maker.

“He’s quality, obviously we could see it all pre-season,” Roux said.
“His touches, his mentality… it’s unbelievable and I think the fans got a taste of it finally. He’s a quality player and a great leader for us.
“It’s exciting for the league to have him here.”

Roux also made his Victory debut last Saturday night after joining the reigning Hyundai A-League Champions from Central Coast Mariners in the off-season.
The Kiwi international said Victory will approach Sunday evening’s Round 2 clash with Perth Glory confident after the manner of their opening-night performance.
“I think our performance was very good and we controlled the game for most parts,” Roux said.
“To not get at least a point is disappointing for us so we’ll take the positives out of it and move on to Glory and see what we can do better.
“It was a bit of a weird one because we came away with no points but we were happy with the way we played and a few things went against us which happens in football.”
