Melbourne Victory travel to face Adelaide United in the opening Westfield W-League fixture of Round 6, desperate to bounce back from a 6-0 defeat at the hands of Brisbane Roar.
The Reds, meanwhile, come into the contest high on confidence after handing reigning Champions Melbourne City a 2-1 defeat in Round 5 to go equal top of the Westfield W-League table.
The fixture at Marden Sports Complex on Friday, January 29 can’t come soon enough for the Victory, who have experienced a mixed bag of results to date in the 2020/21 campaign; the six-goal loss against Brisbane in Round 5 came just two games after Victory dominated Melbourne City by the same margin in Round 3.
But in Adelaide the Victory find perhaps the most intimidating of opponents league-wide, as the Reds look to notch a fourth consecutive Westfield W-League win – a feat never before achieved in club history.
