Who made our team of the week for the final round of the Hyundai A-League season?

Player of the round: Nick Fitzgerald (Central Coast Mariners)

What a stunning display from this 22-year-old rising star. Scored the opener, was everywhere in midfield creating and tracked back in what was a class performance from the reigning premiers.

Team of the week: 4-3-3

Goalkeeper: Ante Covic (Western Sydney Wanderers)
Couldn-t do much about the Orlando rocket or deflected goal but saved a certain goal from Kewell and was all-round rock solid.

Right defence: Matthew Davies (Perth Glory)
So positive and full of energy, the youngster also worked very hard to keep things tight down the Glory right. Great prospect.

Central defence: Nick Montgomery (Central Coast Mariners)
Dropped deeper to help snuff out Roar-s attacking arsenal; was superb in a central defensive role.

Central defence: Zach Anderson (Central Coast Mariners)
Great organiser and powerful presence, the former Gold Coast man is in outstanding form.

Left defence: Dave Carney (Newcastle Jets)
Second week in a row we-ve picked the reborn former Socceroo. Quality left foot and full of energy up and down the left side.

Midfield: Nick Fitzgerald (Central Coast Mariners)
Absolutely brilliant across midfield. Worked his socks off till subbed late, created and scored the vital first goal.

Midfield: Orlando Engelaar (Melbourne Heart)
Scored another Orlando Magic- screamer and controlled the game before Heart succumbed to the machine like Wanderers.

Midfield: Mark Milligan (Melbourne Victory)
Another assured performance from one of the best – if not best – midfielder in the comp.

Right Winger: James Troisi (Melbourne Victory)
The former Italian based forward has been consistently good and this week his skill and vision shone again in a masterclass from Muscat-s men.

Striker: Harry Kewell (Melbourne Heart)
Not a sentimental choice – ‘H- was all class (his dummy in the first half was sublime). Should-ve scored too.

Left Winger: Bernie Ibini (Central Coast Mariners)
When you play counter-attack you need speed. Bernie has it, but he-s also a constant danger in front of goal.
