Canberra United travel to face Melbourne Victory at Epping Stadium on Sunday afternoon, intent on rebounding from a two-game losing streak to reclaim a spot in the top four.
Canberra have bundled out of the Finals Series places in recent weeks after the resurgent Adelaide United have joined Victory in gathering momentum in the second half of the 2020/21 Westfield W-League campaign.
Two successive losses to Sydney FC (4-0) and Adelaide (2-1) led to a bye in Round 9 which left the Green Machine to stew on their recent dip in form.
Victory, meanwhile, have enjoyed a three-game winning streak which has taken Jeff Hopkins’ side two points above Canberra and into the top four. But the Victory boss stressed there was plenty for his side to improve on in the coming weeks, with their spot in the Finals Series far from secured.
A loss to the Green Machine on Sunday afternoon would see Canberra jump back into the top four at Victory’s expense, making this Round 10 battle a must-see event.
