Sydney FC host Canberra United at Leichhardt Oval on Wednesday evening in a re-arranged Round 9 Ninja A-League fixture which could see sisters Indiana and Jynaya Dos Santos go head-to-head for the first time.
With just one win to their name and seven losses so far this season, Ante Juric’s defending champions the Sky Blues find themselves at the wrong end of the table, sitting in 11th position after 10 games.
After a 1-1 draw against Perth Glory in Western Australia last time out, Juric will be hoping the turning point in their season comes sooner rather than later, especially now that they sit 10 points outside the top six.

Putting pen-to-paper on a new two-year extension, Dos Santos expressed her delight at securing her footballing future.

Making for an even more tantalising prospect on the pitch is that the younger Dos Santos sibling could well face off against her older sister when the two sides lock horns.

Leaving the Sky Blues off the back of winning another Championship, Jynaya Dos Santos secured a move to Canberra United in the off-season and head coach Antoni Jagarinec said the attacker has been talking up the sibling rivalry ahead of the game.
“Yeah she’s a competitor!” remarked Jagarinec when asked about the Dos Santos sisters going head-to-head.
“I know it’s a big family and lots of siblings and the rivalry is very high so tomorrow night, if they get the chance to play against each other I’m sure there will be no punches pulled.
“They’re both young, talented footballers with massive futures ahead of them.”
Speaking of Canberra, the away side into the home clash off the back of a hard-fought 2-1 win over Western United in Round 11.

Trailing courtesy of an early goal from Western’s Catherine Zimmerman, Jagarinec’s side fought back to secure consecutive victories for the first time this season in the Ninja A-League.
“The vibe is high and physically we look pretty good,” said the Canberra coach when speaking at his pre-match press conference.
“While everyone was on holidays over the Christmas break we doubled down and got stuck back in so a couple of wins on the trot and a draw in the last three is really good.
“It’s good for vibes but good for confidence as well and we’re growing. We knew that we were going to grow and we’re going to continue to do that.”
Despite being the form team of the two sides, Jagarinec admitted he and his players will be on their guard against a team capable of producing moments of magic.

“You’re waiting for a team like Sydney FC for the ball to drop their way and when it does they’re a dangerous team, they’re a dangerous club,” he said.
“So coming up against them we’re certainly wary of them but we’re in a bit of form ourselves so they need to watch out for us as well a little bit.
“We’re just going to keep worrying about ourselves mostly, and the opposition can only do what they can do.”
