Rose raring for 150th appearance

Central Coast Mariners evergreen defender Josh Rose will reach a significant milestone on Friday night when he steps onto the pitch against Melbourne Victory at AAMI Park for his 150th Hyundai A-League appearance.

Rose started his A-League career with the now defunct New Zealand Knights in the inaugural season of the competition where he played 12 matches before heading to Romania where he played for FC Universitatea Craiova before joining the Mariners in the lead up to the 2010/11 campaign.

The majority of ‘Rosey’s’ time with the Mariners has been spent at left back but the flying wingback still manages to pop up on the scoresheet. The former Brisbane Striker has scored in all six Hyundai A-League seasons that he has played in and during his first season with the Mariners he managed to bag three, adding up to eight goals in the domestic competition.

Rose has become one of the first names on the starting 11 for the yellow and navy and in most recent times has also filled a void in the central defensive pairing when called upon.

Central Coast Mariners’ fans and members can look forward to more of Rose’s proactivity on the left hand side for at least another two seasons with the 33-year old on contract until the completion of the Hyundai A-League 2016/17 campaign.
