Rojas on the move in January?

Former Melbourne Victory star Marco Rojas appears set to leave Bundesliga club VfB Stuttgart at the end of the season.

Rojas, currently on loan at SpVgg Greuther Furth, is struggling for match time at the moment and a move away appears likely.

It’s believed at least two European clubs outside of Germany are interested in the Kiwi international’s signature.

“The way it’s looking now, Marco will be playing for his third club in January,” Vfb Stuttgart interim sport director Jochen Schneider told the Stuttgarter Nachrichten last week.

The 23-year-old signed a four-year deal with Stuttgart at the end of the 2012-13 Hyundai A-League season.

Injuries have hampered the former Johnny Warren medalist’s progression, managing just 26 minutes of game time since joining second division club Greuther Furth earlier this season.

“So far he has not been able to adjust to the more robust style of play,” Fürth president Helmut Hack said.

“I have to say that, so far, he has not been able to fulfil our expectations.”

While Rojas has been able to crack it in Germany he might opt for a switch to the Netherlands, Belgium or Switzerland where a host of Australian players have been performing strongly.

“Just because it has taken a little while to get going doesn’t mean I am going to give up on my dream yet,” Rojas told www.vavel.com
