After a week of torrential rain in Brisbane, Queensland Roar Women are more than ready to take on Melbourne Victory tomorrow night in their quest to hold on to first place in the Westfield W-League.

Roar midfielder Karla Reuter said that the weather has done little to disrupt their training regime.

“We-ve trained a few nights, and on Tuesday night we got a bit wet.

“The pitch was heavy and our legs were a bit sore the next day but we got through it”.

She also stressed that they would prepare for the game as they would any other, despite spending the week in prime position on the table.

The Roar sit on nine points, two points clear of second-placed Sydney FC.

“It-s always the same at training, if anything, we-ve trained harder.

“It-s a tough league and if you don-t perform each week you-re not going to stay at the top, and we want to stay up there”.

After Spencer Park, the round five-s original venue, was flooded in the storms, the game has been relocated to Ballymore Stadium.

The Roar-s final two regular season home games on November 29 and December 20 have now also been changed to Ballymore.

Despite never having played at Ballymore, Reuter was excited about playing there for the rest of the season.

“The Roar men say it-s a great field and they-re all excited to be there.

“Hopefully we can start a winning streak”.

When questioned on her opponents, Reuter conceded that it would be a fairly physical encounter.

“I haven-t seen too much of Melbourne, but I know they-re a big, physical side.

“They-ve come up with some good results and they in third place on the table so it-s going to be a tough game.

“We are all really looking forward to it”.
