Roar unveil plans for new training base

Brisbane Roar have confirmed that the club’s new state-of-the-art Logan training facility is scheduled to be completed in early 2018.

The facility will be the base for the club’s footballing and administration departments.

City of Logan Mayor Luke Smith said Logan City Council has committed $9 million to redevelop Logan Metro Sports Park, in Heritage Park, the new home and training facility of Queensland’s only Hyundai A-League team.

“The new facilities include a premier sporting field, club house, offices, change rooms and amenities, as well as carparks and access roads,” Mayor Smith said.

“With Football Queensland at Meakin Park and Football Brisbane also being based at Logan Metro Sports Park, the City of Logan is now the home of football in Queensland.

“Aside from being a city that loves sport and has produced sports stars across all codes, Logan is also an ideal location for major sporting operations in South-East Queensland.

“This is certainly an exciting time for sports in the City of Logan.”

Head Coach John Aloisi and his side are thrilled to see the progress made on the new training base which they will call home early 2018.

“Our Hyundai A-League squad is delighted to know that in the near future we will have our own dedicated high-quality training facility,” Aloisi added.

“It is a great opportunity for the Club to also develop close ties with a local community that has produced many quality sports men and women.”
