Goalscorer Tommy Oar has warned against panicking despite Brisbane Roar suffering a second straight loss in Saturday’s deflating 3-2 loss to Newcastle Jets.
Oar broke his duck for the season with a superb volley in the 15th minute but Brisbane failed to build on the lead as their winless run extends to three matches.

“Sydney has been flying and last week I thought we performed quite well and we were unlucky. They were just a bit more clinical than us,” Oar told ABC Grandstand.
“Obviously today was a different story.
“We were a little bit disappointing and for sure we’re going to have a look at it during the week and look to bounce back as fast as possible.
“There is no better way to do that than to play Melbourne Victory away next week.”
Oar’s well-taken volley set Roar on the right course at Suncorp Stadium but some casual defending either side of the break proved costly as their 13-match unbeaten run at home came to an end.
“I think we were the victims of our own mistakes,” the 25-year-old said.
“All the goals they scored, obviously they took them well, but they came off our own mistakes.
“From that perspective it was a bit disappointing.”
