Roar seek to find their voice for TV bow

Brisbane Roar will make their Fox Sports/ABC TV debut for the season on Sunday as Adelaide United pay a visit to the Sunshine State.

As always there is a stack of high-quality personnel on the Roar side – be it Westfield Matildas or international imports – for TV viewers to look out for.

The Roar have turned in plenty of strong performances this season, having already played against the three big contenders – Melbourne City, Sydney FC and Canberra United.

However, now is the time to improve on a return of seven points from five outings, meaning there is little margin for error against the second-from-bottom Adelaide.

But United have their own impressive star names, headlined by Brazil international Monica and dynamic USA-raised former Mexico international striker Sofia Huerta.

The Roar have lost just twice in 12 meetings against Adelaide United, but one of those defeats at home a few years back was one of the great shocks in the competition’s history. The gap between the pair is not nearly so great these days, but can Adelaide cause another upset?

Tune in for the start of the TV broadcast at 2pm on Sunday on Fox Sports 505 and ABCTV.
