Brisbane Roar has today confirmed they will play National Premier League Queensland Champions Olympic FC in their final pre-season match of 2013.
The match is scheduled for Sunday, 29 September, and comes off the back of an extensive pre-season campaign which has included Lismore, Bathurst and Ipswich with the squad still to travel to Cairns.
It will be the Roar’s last run before they travel to New Zealand to face Wellington Phoenix in round one of the Hyundai A-League 2013/14 season on Saturday, 13 October.
The match also holds significance for Olympic FC, who will be looking for a good showing before their NPL Finals Series match against either NSW’s Sydney United or Canberra FC of Capital Football.
Success in their NPL Finals Series match for the Queensland champions would mean the opportunity to host the NPL Grand Final.
The match will be played at Olympic’s home ground, Goodwin Park in Yeronga with a match between Brisbane Roar W-League and Olympic’s U16 side scheduled for afterwards.
