Roar fire four past Reds in Brisbane

Brisbane Roar have broken their run of draws in emphatic fashion, consigning Adelaide United to a 4-0 defeat at Suncorp Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

Two goals in as many minutes from Danish midfielder Thomas Kristensen put the home side on their way, with Tommy Oar providing the assist on both occasions.

A Thomas Broich header and Jamie Maclaren penalty confirmed the result after the interval, with former Roar forward Henrique guilty of giving away the spot kick in an unhappy homecoming.

The Reds were better value than the final scoreline suggested, dominating the attacking stats, but a Iacopo La Rocca header that hit the crossbar was the closest they came to finding the back of the net.

The three points see Brisbane join third-placed Victory on 17 points, while Adelaide remain rooted to the foot of the ladder.
