Brisbane Roar boss John Aloisi brushed off his Melbourne City counterpart’s provocative pre-match comments following the two sides’ heated 1-1 draw on Saturday night.
City coach John van’t Schip suggested Aloisi was “whingeing like a baby” after the latter earlier raised questions over his former club’s physicality.
“If he thinks I’m a baby probably so do my wife and kids,” Aloisi joked after the match on Fox Sports.

“I know deep down he was probably a little bit worried we would influence the referee which I don’t think we did at all. I thought the referee was excellent tonight.
“I think that’s why he said what he said but I don’t take it to heart. I’ve been called a lot worse, believe me.”
Brisbane led 1-0 at half-time courtesy of Jamie Maclaren’s second goal in as many weeks but were made to settle for a fourth straight draw after Nicolas Colazo equalised in the 55th minute.
The silky Argentine capped a neat team move to punish a static Roar defence, which had stopped to request attention for defender Jade North.
“They sort of switched off which they probably didn’t have to. It cost us a goal,” Aloisi said.
“You can’t stop until the ball is actually out of play or the referee whistles.
“Our shape gets caught out and that’s how they end up getting their goal.”
