Roar appoints new Managing Director

Brisbane Roar have appointed David Pourre as the club’s new Managing Director.

Pourre takes the reins from Mark Kingsman, who departed the club earlier this week.

The appointment marks a return to Roar for Pourre, who served as the club’s CEO in 2015/16 as well as being a Commercial Director for a period.

“Brisbane Roar is thrilled with the opportunity to work with David again. David brings a wealth of commercial experience, personal networks and a deep understanding of football operations that will provide stability, continuity and a pathway of growth for the Roar,” club Chairman Soekasah said.

“These qualities are going to be central to ensure Brisbane Roar FC is correctly positioned to deliver constructive member engagement, increased commercial value to corporate partners and the execution of our future growth plans, giving our footballers the best platform to deliver results.

“Brisbane Roar has extremely strong football squads across our Hyundai A-league, Westfield W-League and Foxtel National Youth League teams, with David back on the team alongside our new advisory board, I am even more excited about the club’s future and the opportunities that lay ahead for Brisbane Roar FC.”

David Pourre added of his new role: ”I am thrilled to be re-joining Brisbane Roar. This is a club that has continued its football journey and improvement in key areas of operations commenced during my first tenure.”

“The planned move to a new $9 million, purpose-built, CoE in Logan in early 2018, the opening of the junior academy in Herston, and the build out of the biggest and best Football Academy in Australia are signs that we are already on the right track”.

“What really appealed to me was the owner’s vision of what this football club could be, and should be, the biggest and best in Australia.

“There’s a lot of work to do to achieve that but I’m extremely pleased to be back and working towards that vision”.

On the field, Roar is chasing their first win of the new season and host Newcastle Jets at Suncorp Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
