Impressive Joeys striker Cameron Joice is trialling with Hyundai A-League club Newcastle Jets.
The 17-year-old began training with Scott Miller’s squad earlier this week in the hope of securing his first senior contract.
A graduate of the FFA Centre of Excellence, Joice was a part of the Joeys squad which made the last 16 in Chile at the October’s FIFA U-17 World Cup, eliminated by eventual champions Nigeria.
A-League transfer: Jets land Danish international
While Joice may find a spot at the Jets youth squad playing in the Northern NSW NPL, he is hoping for an A-League deal first.
“I’m just doing my best and seeing what happens,” the 180cm attacker told the Newcastle Herald.
“Whatever happens, I’m just trying to work 100 per cent and see what the outcome is. I’m just working as hard as I can to at least have a shot.”
Joice could be the second FFA CoE graduate to earn a senior contract after Kosta Petratos joined Perth Glory last week.
