Zlatan Ibrahimovic could be running out in the Hyundai A-League in the next few weeks if Perth Glory can close a sensational guest player deal for the superstar striker.
The 11-time Ballon d’Or nominee, whose resume boasts a who’s who of world football giants, including Ajax, Juventus, Inter Milan, AC Milan, Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United, has received an enquiry from the Hyundai A-League 2018/19 Premiers.
“An approach has been made to his agent. We’ve asked the question firstly about his availability and secondly of his interest,” Glory CEO Tony Pignata confirmed to the Sydney Morning Herald.
Glory want the enigmatic forward, known to many as ‘Ibra’ or simply ‘Zlatan’, on a short-term deal ahead of Europe’s January transfer window and are targeting the November 23 Grand Final rematch against Champions Sydney FC as a potential debut for the 116-cap Sweden international, the SMH reported.
Ibrahimovic is one of only three players – alongside Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi – to have hit double figures in 11 straight campaigns in Europe’s top five leagues.
The 38-year-old has recently finished a prolific two-season Major League Soccer spell with LA Galaxy, where he scored 53 goals in 58 matches in the United States.

Recent attacking talent to debut the Hyundai A-League includes former Premier League stars Alessandro Diamanti, who joined Western United, and Gary Hooper, who paired up with Wellington Phoenix.
Also this season, Western Sydney Wanderers ink a deal for ex-Bundesliga hitman Alexander Meier and Newcastle Jets brought in Panama’s FIFA World Cup 2018™ striker Abdiel Arroyo.
The prospect of Zlatan lining up with Glory maestro Diego Castro and, one of the Hyundai A-League’s finest front men, Bruno Fornaroli, would certainly be a mouth-watering one for fans of Australian football.
