Adelaide United FC have announced the signing of former Western Sydney Wanderers midfielder Iacopo La Rocca on a two-year deal.
The Italian joins the Reds after spending three seasons with the Wanderers where he made 58 appearances and scored 6 goals.
In his time at Western Sydney, he was part of the squad that won the title in their debut season, and then won the 2014 AFC Champions League, with La Rocca starting in both legs of their triumph over Al-Hilal in the final.

“I was very happy to receive the phone call from Michael Perillo and coach Josep Gombau. I decided to sign because Adelaide showed they really wanted me and I am very happy to sign for one of the strongest clubs in Australia and to be part of this group of players,” said La Rocca.
“I reckon we can win more trophies. I believe my experience and a willingness to give my all for the team and coach at all times can help the team succeed.”
La Rocca also said the style of play that Josep Gombau has brought to the Reds was a factor in his decision.
“Everyone knows Adelaide plays the best football in Australia and I can’t wait to be a part of this style, but it’s up to me to prove myself and earn my spot in the team.”
Head Coach Josep Gombau said the qualities La Rocca brings to the club are exactly what he was looking to add to the playing group in their quest to go a step further next season.
“We are so happy with this new addition to our squad,” said Gombau.
“Iacopo is a player who has extensive experience both here and internationally. He’s a proven winner and can also play in different positions.
“He brings a different dimension to our squad, which is something we were looking for.
La Rocca is set to arrive in Adelaide next week and will be joining the squad immediately upon arrival to prepare for the Hyundai A-League 2015/16 season.
