The Hyundai A-League has had some pretty special players over the years but Liam Reddy says a current Perth Glory teammate has to be rated the greatest ever.
Reddy, who has played for seven Hyundai A-League clubs, believes Glory’s silky Spaniard Diego Castro is top of the pile when it comes to the league’s best-ever players.

The veteran custodian thinks Castro’s continued brilliance since his arrival in Perth 2015 outshines that of even Italian legend Alessandro Del Piero.
The 2006 FIFA World Cup winner is one of a number of impressive imports to have graced the competition, including the likes of Besart Berisha, Thomas Broich and Milos Ninkovic.

But in an article on the Fox Sports website, Reddy declared Castro – who was the Johnny Warren Medallist in the 2015/16 Season – is the clear number one.
“Look, Del Piero was good. But I think what Diego has done for four years speaks volumes,” Reddy told AAP.
“Del Piero was an unbelievable player, but I don’t think we saw the best of him when he was here.
“I think the work Diego does off the ball as well as on the ball is exceptional.
“For me, he’s the best player to play in the league. We can give him the ball in tight spaces and he finds a way of getting out.”
