Manchester United have spent the week promising to put on a show and after a 5-1 victory over the inaugural Foxtel A-League All Stars side there is no doubt a packed out ANZ Stadium enjoyed every minute of it.
The Red Devils might have unveiled a couple of all stars of their own as Jesse Lingard and Danny Welbeck both scored a brace in a dominant performance by the Red Devils.
The red-drenched crowd did not have to wait long for a goal as Lingard scored the opener in the 11th before Danny Welbeck got his first just after the half hour mark.
Soon after the break Brisbane Roar-s Besart Berisha gave the All Stars hope with a solid finish but the two goal lead was soon restored as Lingard scored three minutes later after a great set up by the mercurial Ryan Giggs.
Young gun Welbeck got his second with a header off a corner sent in from crowd favourite Robin Van Persier who came on in the second half to a standing ovation.
The Dutchman put the icing on the cake in the 87th minute as he eventually got the ball past Michal Theo to complete the 5-1 rout.
