Record memberships for Glory

Season ten of the Hyundai A-League continues to be a landmark year for Perth Glory FC, with the West Australian league leaders recording a club high of 6000 memberships.

After nine wins, two draws and one loss, Glory are in a commanding position at the top of the table, four points clear of Melbourne Victory.

With seven new player recruits and the appointment of Kenny Lowe as full-time coach, the rewards are paying dividends. Striker Andy Keogh is the second highest goal scorer in the league (7 goals after 12 rounds) while the back line of Dino Djulbic, Michael Thwaite, Josh Risdon and Scott Jamieson have helped build one of the most formidable defences in the league.

This year’s membership eclipses last year’s record of 5528, which according to the club’s membership manager, Joseph Marafioti, is testament to the club’s growing number of loyal members who are joining the long march to Glory.

“You’re seeing a different club these days, on and off the pitch. We had a large presence at the Royal Show, we paraded the FFA Cup through the city and at schools, creating a strong sense of community, which the public is slowly responding to and of course the boys are doing all the right things on the pitch” Marafioti said.

“But we won’t be resting on our laurels. We want memberships to be higher than they are, and now is a great time to get a mid-season membership which will save you 40-percent and help you avoid the ticket queues” he added.

Perth Glory FC will face off in a grudge match against FFA Cup rivals Adelaide United, in the last home game for three weeks, on January 5 at nib Stadium.

Kick-off is at 5pm. Get your tickets here.
