Qantas set to stream Hyundai A-League games

According to a report, Hyundai A-League fans will be able to watch their favourite teams in the sky on Qantas flights by streaming Foxtel.

Mitchell Bingeman from The Australian newspaper reports that the carrier is set to upgrade its entertainment offering by partnering with Netflix, Spotify and Foxtel – which has broadcast rights to the A-League – to stream content for passengers on board.

According to the report, Foxtel will offer Qantas passengers a free three-day trial of their on-board app, which includes the A-League and other sports.

Wanderers midfielder Nicolas Martinez celebrates scoring against Perth Glory at nib Stadium.

Trials are continuing with the rollout expected to kick off by the end of this month with some 80 of Qantas’ domestic fleet set to be fitted with NBN-supplied Wi-Fi.

The report added US company ViaSat will deliver the Wi-Fi via the NBN’s satellite service utilising spare capacity, with speeds tipped at around 12 megabits per second on board.Â
