Help your fellow Queenslanders on Australia Day as Fury battle for Victory under the lights

Help your fellow Queenslanders on Australia Day as Fury battle for Victory under the lights on Wednesday night.
As well as offering top-notch Hyundai A-League action, Wednesday night-s game at Dairy Farmers Stadium gives supporters the perfect opportunity to help their fellow Queenslanders out.
Fury-s players will be conducting bucket collections inside the stadium and 100 percent of proceeds from the sale of children-s tickets will go to the flood relief appeal. So wear your Australian colours with pride, bring the whole family along and demonstrate your unwavering support for your state and for the boys in green!
Melbourne Victory make up a tough opponent in this midweek battle under the lights. While the two sides have played each other twice in the Hyundai A-League 2010/11 season, they haven-t met since mid-September and there has been absolutely nothing to choose between the two teams in both encounters, which suggests that this final meeting will be a tight affair.
While a tense 0-0 draw at Dairy Farmers Stadium may have been devoid of incident, the earlier tussle at AAMI Park was one of the games of the season so far. Referee Chris Boyle was the busiest man on the field that day, awarding three penalties and sending off two Fury players amid four goals in as fiery an encounter as you are likely to see for some time.
Despite only having nine-men, Fury still came away with a point in the rollercoaster game, which saw striker Eugene Sseppuya open the scoring before Kevin Muscat hit two penalties, only for Chris Payne-s spot kick to level it all up with nine minutes to go.
It was a remarkable result for the Tropical Green considering Chris Grossman was red carded with over an hour to play and that Eric Akoto followed him for a bit of argy bargy in the area before Fury levelled it up at 2-2. If Wednesday-s game has half the excitement of that one, we-re in for a treat.
Victory-s last away game ended in heartbreak in Sydney. Ernie Merrick-s men seemed destined to snap a winless run of three matches thanks to Danny Allsopp’s 51st minute finish, but, having held off wave after wave of Sydney attacks, they finally succumbed to an injury-time equaliser from substitute striker Juho Makela.
Meanwhile, the last time Fury turned out at Dairy Farmers Stadium, it was equally disappointing. A 3-1 home defeat to Newcastle Jets was typical of their recent poor form. Before Friday-s tough trip to Adelaide, Fury had only picked up one point from a possible 21 – a run which saw them slip to the foot of the ladder.
Still, while there is time, there is hope, and Fury will see a home game against a side that has failed to beat them so far this season as an opportunity to secure a much-needed win to boost confidence and raise the spirits of their loyal fans.
The weekend comes early at the Dairy Farmers Stadium, so get along to this Wednesday night showdown and get vocal, as Fury look to pull themselves off the foot of the table and build towards ending their Hyundai A-League 2010/11 season on a high. Don-t forget to bring pocketfuls of change as your favourite players will be doing the rounds with collection buckets for the flood relief appeal.
