Melbourne Victory make up a tough opponent in this midweek battle under the lights. While the two sides have played each other twice in the Hyundai A-League 2010/11 season, they haven-t met since mid-September and there has been absolutely nothing to choose between the two teams in both encounters, which suggests that this final meeting will be a tight affair.
While a tense 0-0 draw at Dairy Farmers Stadium may have been devoid of incident, the earlier tussle at AAMI Park was one of the games of the season so far. Meanwhile, the last time Fury turned out at Dairy Farmers Stadium, it was equally disappointing. A 3-1 home defeat to Newcastle Jets was typical of their recent poor form. Before Friday-s tough trip to Adelaide, Fury had only picked up one point from a possible 21 – a run which saw them slip to the foot of the ladder.
Still, while there is time, there is hope, and Fury will see a home game against a side that has failed to beat them so far this season as an opportunity to secure a much-needed win to boost confidence and raise the spirits of their loyal fans.
