One last chance to go for Glory! It-s the final home game of the season for Jets on Thursday. Don-t miss out on the drama!
It-s been a strange season for Newcastle Jets. A slow start eventually transformed into a really powerful mid-section of the season – inspired by the club-s takeover and boosted by the high-profile visit of LA Galaxy – before some seriously patchy form in the back third of their campaign. All of which has left them – depending on other results at this hectic time of year – with a chance of sneaking into the top six. So get along to the last home game of the season for Jets and open your lungs like never before. Whether you end up cheering them to the play-offs, or just showing your appreciation for a fantastic effort in what has been a difficult few months in places, let-s make some noise as the regular season comes to an end at EnergyAustralia Stadium.
With Glory not playing on the final weekend of the Hyundai A-League 2010/11 season, and with any hopes of a finals appearance long-since extinguished, the side from the West take their bow at EnergyAustralia Stadium on Thursday night.
And they’ll be glad to get this campaign over and done with and start building towards August. While this season may have been a disappointment, with all manner of rumours circulating about which players may or may not be wearing the purple next season, there is certainly plenty of optimism about the future for Perth Glory.
Amazingly, these sides haven’t met since way back in September, when early and late goals from Jets were enough to turn over a Glory side that was in the midst of that horrific run of defeats. A few weeks earlier at nib Stadium, it was a very different story, as Branko Jelic scored the game-s only goal on the stroke of half-time, just seven minutes after being introduced.
Which way will this decider go? Can Jets secure three points that could be crucial to them as they prepare for a blockbusting last game of the season against local rivals Central Coast Mariners, or will Perth Glory end a largely miserable campaign on a high? Jets will be without Ryan Griffiths, as he completes his two-match suspension.
Get yourself down to EnergyAustralia Stadium for the last home game of the Hyundai A-League season for Newcastle Jets and show your support. It-s been quite the rollercoaster of a campaign for Branko Culina-s men, but one thing has been consistent throughout: the team has shown nothing but 100 percent commitment for your club.
They have sweated blood to wear the shirts, so offer them your appreciation in the form of non-stop singing for 90 minutes. Similarly, the players are grateful for the incredible loyalty that has been on display in the stands throughout the season, and will be going all out to reward you with a win. Score a ticket today and be a part of it!
