Sydney FC have taken control of E-League 2020 but a clutch of teams are in hot pursuit in the race for the Premiership title, which will be presented on Match Day 2.
Reigning champion FUTWIZ Marko laid down the perfect results card in Match Day 1, winning six from six on the PS4, to lead the Sky Blues to a four-point advantage at the half-way stage of the FIFA 20 Global Series competition’s regular season.
Xbox one star FUTWIZ Jamie was a major contributor to Sydney’s surge to 16 points, but three clubs lead the chase to get their hands on the Premiers Plate.
Melbourne Victory duo Mouad Zwed and Rick Tran hold the best cards, on 12 points with a game in hand, while the Kiwi pair of Honey Badger and airbrn, repping their home nation Wellington Phoenix, are also right up there on 12 points.
Throw Melbourne City’s gamers – Marcus Gomes and Saisanas – in the mix, also on 12 points, and turn up the heat as we enter Match Day 2 at ESL Studios in the Harbour City on the road to the Finals Series.
Only six clubs will book their place at Fortress Melbourne on Saturday, 9 May, so the likes of Brisbane Roar, Western United, Perth Glory, Adelaide United and Western Sydney Wanderers are duking it out for precious seats at the top table when E-League 2020 advances to the largest gaming and esports venue in the Southern Hemisphere.
