The Newcastle Jets can advise that mid-season recruit, Pato Rodriguez will not return to the club for the 2018/19 Hyundai A-League season.
Rodriguez joined the club on injury replacement in January, making 12 appearances on the Jets’ run to an appearance in the 2018 Hyundai A-League Grand Final.
The Newcastle Jets would like to thank Pato for his contribution to the club and wish him the very best with his future endeavours.
The news follows the announcement that Ronald Vargas has extended his stay with the Jets for the 2018/19 season.
Jets Head Coach, Ernie Merrick said that Vargas’ best was yet to come.
“I think Ronnie was only getting started when he first arrived, and he showed us what he was capable of,” Merrick said.
“To be struck down by injury like that was awful, but to come back and play the way he did in the Final Series was exceptional.
“He’ll benefit from a full pre-season here in Australia, it’s an exciting prospect and I think our fans will feel the same way.”
