Wellington Phoenix striker David Williams has been rewarded for his superb hat-trick against Newcastle Jets in Hyundai A-League Round 23 with a spot in the latest FIFA 19 Team of the Week.
The 31-year-old scored his ninth, tenth and eleventh goals of the campaign, shining in the absence of forward Roy Krishna and solidifying Phoenix’s grasp on a top four position.
It was Williams’ first Hyundai A-League treble since he scored three against the Phoenix, for Melbourne Heart, back in February 2014.
In doing so, he became just the sixth player in the competition’s history to score a hat-trick for more than one club.

Williams is not the only Hyundai A-League player to make the FIFA 19 Team of the Week in recent times.
Phoenix teammates Sarpreet Singh and Roy Krishna both earned selection, while Melbourne Victory forward Kosta Barbarouses, Adelaide United winger Craig Goodwin and Sydney FC skipper Alex Brosque have all featured at various stages throughout the campaign.
Also featuring in the Team of the Week is Liverpool fullback Andy Robertson, who provided a brilliant assist in a 2-1 Premier League victory over Tottenham Hotspur on the weekend, while Paris Saint Germain defender Marquinhos has also been selected on the back of his crucial defensive showing in the Ligue 1 powerhouse’s 1-0 victory over Toulouse.
Caltex Socceroo Tom Rogic’s Celtic teammate James Forrest also received inclusion for his match-winning Old Firm derby exploits.
