Wellington Phoenix to host Keisuke Honda’s Melbourne Victory at Eden Park

Wellington Phoenix have confirmed they will host Keisuke Honda’s Melbourne Victory in their Round 19 Hyundai A-League clash at Eden Park.

The fixture, originally on Saturday, has moved to Eden Park on Friday, February 15 at 5:35pm AEDT, and will be followed by a Super Rugby game almost 24 hours later.

Victory’s marquee man Keisuke Honda has oozed class in the 2018/19 Hyundai A-League Season, accompanied by an all-star attack of Terry Antonis, Kosta Barbarouses, Ola Toivonen and James Troisi.

The Japan international has four goals and three assists in six games.

Not that Phoenix General Manager David Dome was worried, noting Wellington’s amazing form at Eden Park.

“We have played at Eden Park on five previous occasions and are yet to lose,” said Dome.

“This Wellington team does not fear any team – we’ve already beaten a full strength Victory in the pre-season and with a big Auckland crowd behind us, we know we can do it again.”

One of Wellington’s fixtures at Eden Park came against West Ham United in 2014, where goals to Andrew Durante and Alex Rodriguez secured a memorable 2-1 victory over their Premier League opponents.
