TRANSFER POWER RANKINGS: Old leader slides as two internationals make sensational charge
The 17-year-old Mariners forward has enjoyed a breakout season in the Liberty A-League.
Joining the club after her inclusion in the NPLW NSW First Grade Team of the Season, Trimis made her debut in Round 1 against Newcastle and her subsequent form led to an upgrade from a scholarship to a full Liberty A-League contract in January.
Trimis has made 16 appearances for the Mariners this season, including nine starts, and has scored three goals against Melbourne Victory, Canberra United and Wellington Phoenix.
The Mariners are still in the hunt for the 2023-24 Premier’s Plate after clinching their spot in the Finals Series as the regular season draws toward its conclusion. Trimis has played a key role in the club’s successful return to the Liberty A-League this season and February’s Young Footballer of the Year nomination is just reward for an outstanding debut campaign.
The Young Matildas striker is the fifth Young Footballer of the Year nominee this season so far, joining Sydney FC’s Maddie Caspers (January), Melbourne Victory midfielder Alana Murphy (December), Melbourne City’s Daniela Galic (November) and Perth Glory midfielder Georgia Cassidy (October).
