Perth Glory have signed Norway-s Lisa-Marie Woods as the third international player to join the side’s Westfield W-League squad this season.
Woods joins New Zealand star Emma Kete and English import Katie Holtham in the predominantly locally-made Glory outfit.
The 27-year-old midfielder arrives in Perth Tuesday and will hopefully be available for selection for the game against Brisbane Roar this weekend, depending on receiving her clearance in time.
Woods has been a key part of the Norway team and scored five goals in 2011 FIFA World Cup qualification, but missed the final tournament due to injury.
Perth Glory coach Jamie Harnwell is thrilled with the signing of Woods, who joins from Danish club Fortuna Hjørring.
“I am really pleased to have Lisa-Marie join us in Perth,” he said.
“We knew she would be unavailable for the first couple of weeks of the season, but she is coming straight off the back of the Danish season and will be fit and ready to go.
“She will really provide us with more drive going forwards and hopefully become a regular goal scorer for us.
“Lisa-Marie can play a number of positions and I am sure she will fit into the squad as seamlessly as our other players from over east and overseas.”
