Perth Glory ALW campaign continues in NSW

Perth’s A-League Women team won’t play until the new year amid Western Australia’s border restrictions and are set to head to NSW to play several games in January.

Unlike their male clubmates, who are stuck in hotel quarantine in Queensland, the Glory ALW team have been in Perth since returning from Brisbane in round two, with their third-round home game against Canberra postponed.

The A-Leagues confirmed a series of fixture changes for the Glory on Monday.

Perth were scheduled to travel to face Adelaide on December 23 but that game at Coopers Stadium will instead happen on New Year’s Day.

They are then due to host Canberra on January 5 but the venue is yet to be confirmed, while they were already locked in to play Sydney away on January 8 and Newcastle on January 16.

The Glory’s subsequent home games against Western Sydney on a date to be confirmed and Wellington on January 29 will also be played in NSW.

The WA border is scheduled to open again on February 5.

Perth have four games scheduled in February against Canberra (away), Melbourne City (home), Melbourne Victory (away), Sydney FC (home).

The Glory will host Adelaide at Macedonia Park on March 2, instead of January 2, while they are due to face Wellington away on March 6.

Alex Epakis’ team have six points from two games after beating Brisbane at home, then away, in the opening two rounds.
