Amid reports that the match between the Wanderers and Sydney FC would be shifted to ANZ Stadium, Wanderers executive chairman Lyall Gorman confirmed the match would not be moved.
“We listened to the football community of western Sydney and they voted overwhelmingly in favour of Parramatta Stadium as the Wanderers home ground,” Gorman said.
“That-s our home and that-s where we will stay. Parramatta is an excellent football venue and our Foundation Members will build a fantastic atmosphere for the A-League matches.
“We understand that our first ever match against the Mariners and the first ever Sydney derby will be hot tickets and that some of the public may miss out, but our commitment to our Members comes first.”
