The independent Match Review Panel (MRP) – consisting of Simon Micallef (Chair), Alan Contini and Alan Davidson – convened on Wednesday, 12 August 2020 to consider an incident involving Craig Noone (Noone) of Melbourne City FC (the Club) in or around the 67th minute of the Club’s Hyundai A-League Round 25 Match against Adelaide United on Tuesday, 11 August 2020.
In accordance with the Hyundai A-League Disciplinary Regulations, the MRP has the authority to consider the incident as Noone was issued with a direct Red Card by the Referee.
The MRP determined that Noone had committed the offence of “Serious foul play (e.g. when challenging for the ball).” The MRP confirmed that Noone will serve a suspension of one (1) match, being the minimum sanction for the offence.
