Adelaide United – Craig Goodwin

Once more, Craig Goodwin was the star of the show for Adelaide United on the weekend – and once again, he created the most scoring chances of any player this round (six).

It was Goodwin’s bravery to contest the ball against Brisbane goalkeeper Jamie Young that saw Roar reduced to nine players, and in the aftermath he ignited the comeback with his eighth goal of the campaign.

That was a rare right footed strike from the winger, and it was from his weaker foot that he also created the chance for George Blackwood to head home the equaliser.

Brisbane Roar – Adam Taggart

Taggart brought up half a century of Hyundai A-League goals against Adelaide, and his tally of 11 for the season in a struggling Brisbane Roar side is some feat.

The striker made a team-high six touches inside the box against the Reds and picked up an assist for Henrique’s opener to go alongside his rasping first-half drive.

Central Coast Mariners – Andrew Hoole

Hoole has been in sensational nick for the Mariners in recent weeks, and you may not see a better pair of free-kicks scored in the Hyundai A-League for a good while.

The midfielder struck two absolute beauties in Central Coast’s 3-2 defeat to Melbourne Victory on Saturday and also finished with a passing accuracy of 87.5%.

Melbourne City – Scott Jamieson

A constant presence down the left side for Warren Joyce this season, Jamieson was valiant in Melbourne City’s 2-0 demise to Sydney FC.

The left-back blocked two shots and made a team-high five open play crosses, creating one chance.

Melbourne Victory – Kosta Barbarouses

The Kiwi flyer has turned into a real match winner for the reigning Champions this season, and Barbarouses came up with the goods again in Victory’s 3-2 comeback win over the Mariners.

He was a chief beneficiary of Victory’s growing second half dominance and made a round high 13 touches in the Mariners box to sit along side his 88th minute winner.

Newcastle Jets – Dimitri Petratos

No other Hyundai A-League player has created more chances than Petratos this season (61), and the Jets attacker mustered up another five in Newcastle’s 5-1 hammering of the Wanderers on Friday.

He also made a team-high 68 touches and broke the deadlock with a spectacular curling effort.

The maestro is simply invaluable to Ernie Merrick’s side.

Perth Glory – Andy Keogh

Keogh became the first Glory player in history to reach the 50-goal landmark with his goal against Wellington Phoenix on Saturday evening.

The Irishman also made a joint-high four shots on target for the round.

Sydney FC – Adam Le Fondre

The Englishman ended his goal drought in style by settling Sydney’s fiercely fought contest with Melbourne City on Sunday.

That was Le Fondre’s twelfth of the campaign, and he made a team-high three shots on target as well as creating two chances in the Sky Blues’ 2-0 win.

Wellington Phoenix – Filip Kurto

Wellington’s Polish goalkeeper has showcased some inspiring form over the past few weeks.

Although he could not stop Glory’s three-goal onslaught at the weekend, Kurto still produced a massive eight saves – the most of any other gloveman from the weekend.

Western Sydney Wanderers – Mitchell Duke

It took just 21 seconds for Mitchell Duke to have the desired impact for Western Sydney Wanderers.

Red and Black boss Markus Babbel threw Duke into the fray midway through the second half and Duke duly dispatched a bullet header with his first involvement.

He also made a team-high three shots on target – a ray of sunshine on another grim evening for the Wanderers.
