Adelaide United – Isaias

In a time of need, it’s often the leaders that stand up and that’s exactly what the Reds skipper did against the Mariners.

With his side trailing 1-0 at the break, Isaias pulled Adelaide back into the match with the equalising goal as they went on to win 2-1.

The Spanish midfielder also created two scoring chances and contested 18 duels in a fine display.

Brisbane Roar – Adam Taggart

There hasn’t been a lot for Roar to get excited about this season, but the form of Taggart is one thing that can’t be denied.

In the 2-2 draw with the Wanderers, Taggart was Brisbane’s hero with his last-ditch header salvaging a point for the home side.

He also set up Roar’s first goal a few minutes earlier and made a joint round-high five shots on goal.

Central Coast Mariners – Ben Kennedy

The Mariners left Coopers Stadium with nothing in the end, but it wasn’t due to the performance of Kennedy.

The experienced gloveman made a round-high eight saves in the 2-1 loss to the Reds.

Kennedy also had a save percentage of an impressive 80%.

Melbourne City – Riley McGree

The young playmaker did his best to inspire City in their narrow 1-0 loss to the Phoenix in Wellington.

McGree finished with an 86% pass accuracy from his 35 attempted passes, while he also had three total shots.

In a keenly-contested encounter, McGree was also involved I 17 duels.

TALKING POINTS: Are Melbourne Victory becoming Big Blue supremos?

Melbourne Victory – Ola Toivonen

No surprise the giant Swede is rated as Victory’s best after his man-of-the-match display in the 2-1 Big Blue win over Sydney FC.

Toivonen only had one shot on goal… and it was a ripper free-kick to open the scoring.

Not only was the striker involved in Victory’s second goal as well, but he also contested 19 duels and made three passes into the final third.

Newcastle Jets – Nigel Boogaard

On his return to the Jets line-up, Boogaard was excellent despite his side being on the end of a 2-0 defeat to Perth Glory.

The Jets skipper made 40 passes for the match, 12 of which were into the final third, with only three players managing more all weekend.

Boogaard also created one scoring chance for his side.

HEROIC MOMENTS: Toivonen breaking Hyundai A-League striking norm

Perth Glory – Neil Kilkenny

A key contributor in Glory’s amazing season so far, Kilkenny delivered again on Sunday against Newcastle.

Not only did he score one of the goals of the weekend with his sublime curling shot, but he also made three vital clearances at the other end.

And from midfield, Kilkenny had 70 pass attempts at an accuracy of 83%.

Sydney FC – Milos Ninkovic

While his team was ultimately on the end of a 2-1 defeat, Ninkovic was a Sky Blue player who finished the game at AAMI Park with his fine reputation intact.

The Serbian star had two shots on target for the match, one of which was his side’s only goal.

Wellington Phoenix – Filip Kurto

After David Williams got the early goal, Phoenix’s 1-0 win was very much preserved thanks to their Polish goalkeeper.

Kurto’s excellent display has now seen him make six or more saves and keep a clean sheet for the second time this season.

It’s been three years since a Wellington keeper has managed that feat (Glen Moss).

Western Sydney Wanderers – Kwame Yeboah

It was a sensational return to Suncorp Stadium for former Roar attacker Yeboah.

Now in Wanderers colours, the forward scored a brilliant goal from four shots and created three scoring chances.

Yeboah also ended the match with a pass accuracy of 100% from his 15 passes.
